Spring Fever… and another Threadventure!

It's time for a spring Threadventure!

It’s a beautiful spring day here in Alabama and I’m so, so grateful for that! We’re getting close to the end of our first (mandatory) week of “shelter-in-place”, but I’ve been observing #togetherathome for three weeks.

Wanna know something? I’m getting a little stir crazy!

I thought you might be, too, so my virtual passport is dusted off and we’re going on another Threadventure™.

In case you’re new to the Serendipity Needleworks family (or your memory is a little fuzzy)…

Threadventures™are virtual needlepoint adventures all around the world with me as your guide.

I take you to fun and exciting destinations where we explore different thread and stitch combinations related to the places we visit.

And the best part?

You can use those thread/stitch combinations on your very own needlepoint canvases.

So. Much. Fun! Right?!

Wanna know where we’re going first?

I thought you might. 😉

I’ll tell you all about it this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. CDT – during Needlepoint TV™.

Join me for the Spring 2020 Threadventure!

In the meanwhile, here’s a list of what to “pack” for our Spring 2020 Threadventure™

  • 13 mesh needlepoint canvas with edges bound (1 or 2 8″ x 8″ pieces)
  • 18 mesh needlepoint canvas with edges bound (1 or 2 8″ x 8″ pieces)
  • size 22 tapestry needles
  • size 24 tapestry needles (optional)
  • needle minder (recommended)
  • stretcher bars (I use 8″ x 8″ bars for my doodle canvases.)
  • tacks
  • scissors
  • laying tool
  • Fray Check or a Thread Zap
  • table/lap/floor stand (recommended)
  • magnification device (optional)
  • light (optional)

    • Hi Jill
Thank you for joining us! Working during the day won’t be an obstacle to you participating. Each week (on Thursday around noon), I’ll post a new “destination” here on the website that spotlights a stitch/thread combination that you can use on your needlepoint projects. The weekly episodes of Needlepoint TV™ will be recorded, too, so you’ll be able to watch later at your convenience. Please reach out if you have any questions. I’m happy to help!
      XOXO!

  3. Ok that sounds great!! I’m new to this adventure and
I feel like I’m missing something with the Threadventure. I’ll gather the supplies and you will start us on particular stitches to complete on the canvases on your Thursday sharing time? 🥴🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

    • No worries, Jill. So here’s how it works…
I release a new blog post every Thursday. Each blog post features a new stitch/thread combination. The stitches I share are not for a specific project that we’ll be stitching together. They’re just ideas for stitches and threads that you might be able to use on a future project. And we chat about the stitch/thread combo, along with other related things, during the weekly episode of Needlepoint TV™.
I’m sure it’ll make more sense after our first “destination”. 😉
      XOXO!
      Ellen
